Our company
Ishida is a privately-owned family business, based in Kyoto, Japan. Founded in 1893, its current President is Takahide Ishida, who succeeded his father Ryuichi Ishida in 2010.
Ishida Europe
Founded in 1985 as the first overseas subsidiary of Ishida, Ishida Europe serves Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Applications
Ishida has provided weighing and packing equipment for thousands of applications, in sectors ranging from fresh produce to hardware, but mainly centred on the food industry. Many of these have been the subjects of detailed case studies.
Customers
Customers range from major multinationals to start-up companies. Most of the world’s top 10 food manufacturers have Ishida equipment and Ishida has an installed base of over 93,000 machines.
EMEA support and service resources
From its purpose-built headquarters in Birmingham, UK, Ishida Europe works with wholly-owned Ishida sales and service offices in 9 countries and committed, highly-trained agents and distributors in a further 30 countries. This strength on the ground is unique to our industry.
Innovation, Research and Development
Our business has always owed its success to innovation, from the invention of the multihead weigher to the latest developments in tray sealing. Drawing on their design and engineering creativity, together with extensive applications experience and state-of-the-art technology, our people develop solutions that keep our customers competitive in the fast-evolving world of food packaging and packing processes.
Our engineering facilities at Birmingham and Poole, together with our major worldwide R&D facility at Shiga Technology Centre in Japan, employ over 550 people.
EMEA Manufacturing
Manufacturing of most Ishida equipment and line solutions for EMEA takes place at well-equipped facilities in Birmingham and Poole in the UK. Our customers also benefit from the synergy between these and our Japanese manufacturing centre, and thus from technology advances and applications experience from around the world.
