Ishida demonstrates versatility in seafood packing

Ishida Europe will showcase a range of seafood packing solutions at Seafood Expo, which help manufacturers achieve maximum efficiencies, excellent quality and high throughput. Highlights include its latest multihead weigher model, a new solution for fish batching and grading and an advanced X-ray inspection system for comprehensive quality checks.
The new Ishida CCW-RV-214-30-WP weigher combines higher speeds - some 15% faster than previous ranges – with consistent weighing at close-to-zero giveaway. An improved user interface includes an ultra-fast touch screen for quicker and easier set up, while the CCW-RV can also be operated remotely via wireless access with tablets, androids and smart phones. Enhanced security features include fingerprint verification access.
The hygienic design is IP67-rated and maintains Ishida’s legendary durability and reliability, with a robust construction that enables the weigher to operate reliably even in the most difficult environments. A new Power Management system provides three power modes (Full, Half and Eco), which help deliver 20% lower power consumption.
The newly-launched Ishida FLEX-Grader uses Ishida’s proven high performance weighing technology to provide a high speed operation with excellent accuracy that is able to grade product to a variety of different specifications. Depending on the application, top speeds of 120 packs per minute can be achieved, while its modular design can easily integrate into existing processing and packing lines.
Grading can be carried out to specified weights, minimum weight or number per pack. The FLEX-Grader can also deliver target batching with tolerances and priorities.
A robust construction ensures reliable operation in even the harshest environments, while simple set-up operations via the touch screen remote control and an easy-clean open frame design minimise downtime for cleaning and product changeovers.
Ishida’s advanced high performance X-ray inspection system, the IX-GA-4075, can reliably detect even tiny amounts of foreign bodies down to 0.3mm in size, such as steel, aluminium, tin, glass, stones, hard rubber, plastic, some bones and shell. Ishida’s unique Genetic Algorithm (GA) technology enables operators to ‘train’ the X-ray system for greater sensitivity to specific contaminants. In addition, it can spot missing, undersized and mis-shaped items or damaged products, and the software allows product masking and weight estimations.
