Ishida shows latest multihead weigher innovation

A model from the newly-launched Ishida RV series of multihead weighers – which deliver the highest levels of speed and accuracy available on the market – will be a major highlight of the Ishida Europe stand at Empack. In addition, the company will demonstrate models from its checkweigher and X-ray ranges to highlight its capabilities in quality control systems.

The RV weigher, being shown in a 3 litre hopper version, combines higher weighing speeds - some 15% faster than previous ranges thanks to the introduction of more responsive radial feeder drives that create faster and smoother product flow – with consistent weighing at close-to-zero giveaway.

An improved user interface includes an ultra-fast touch screen for quicker and easier set up, while the CCW-RV can also be operated remotely via wireless access with tablets, Androids and smart phones. Enhanced security features include fingerprint verification access.

The hygienic design is IP67-rated and maintains Ishida’s legendary durability and reliability, with a robust construction that enables the weigher to operate reliably even in the most difficult environments. A new Power Management system provides three power modes (Full, Half and Eco), which help deliver 20% lower power consumption.

Ishida’s advanced high performance X-ray inspection system, the IX-GA-4075, can reliably detect even tiny amounts of foreign bodies down to 0.3mm in size, such as steel, aluminium, tin, glass, stones, hard rubber, plastic, some bones and shell. Ishida’s unique Genetic Algorithm (GA) technology enables operators to ‘train’ the X-ray system for greater sensitivity to specific contaminants. In addition, it can spot missing, undersized and mis-shaped items or damaged products, and the software allows product masking and weight estimations.

The new DACS-G checkweigher is capable of exceptional speeds while maintaining high accuracy, and, at the touch of a button, can switch between two weighing ranges, allowing food manufacturers to handle more products on one machine. The model at Empack will be demonstrated with a Reject Failsafe System to help food processors comply with latest supermarket codes of practice.

Like all models in the DACS range, the new DACS-G can be easily integrated with its enhanced Ishida Data Capture System (IDCS II), a user-friendly, secure software programme that records the data of every pack weighed from up to 100 checkweighers into a single secure database. IDCS II offers an extensive range of reporting options to enable production managers to employ state-of-the-art monitoring for legislative compliance while also identifying cost saving opportunities, minimising product giveaway and improving production efficiencies.
