Ishida continues to invest in RSA

Weighing and packing line equipment specialist Ishida RSA is continuing to invest in the South African region with the further expansion of its service operation.

The company is seeking to appoint a dedicated service engineer to support the Western Cape and Coast regions to meet increasing customer demand in the area and ensure a fast-response service.

“With strong sales for our equipment throughout the country, we need to ensure that we have an appropriate localised support network,” explains Jonathan Beattie, General Sales Manager, Ishida RSA.

Ishida first established a dedicated South African office in 1998 and moved to its current premises close to Johannesburg airport in 2009. In addition to sales and service personnel, the company offers an in-house projects department for the design and installation of bespoke packing systems. There is a demonstration area, where customers can see the latest equipment operating and also run trials of their products, and an extensive spares facility, which allows the majority of parts to be supplied directly.

“We will continue to invest in our South African facility to ensure our customers enjoy the best experience in line with Ishida’s worldwide reputation for quality and reliability,” says Jonathan Beattie.

Ishida is the world market leader in the design, manufacture and installation of complete weighing, packing and quality control solutions for the food industry. In South Africa, Ishida has an installed base of over 600 individual machines.

At Propak Cape in October, the company will demonstrate some its latest equipment including an integrated snacks packing line comprising multihead weigher, bagmaker and checkweigher; a high performance entry-level multihead weigher for dry food products; and an advanced X-ray inspection system.
