Last year saw new heights of disarray in Japanese politics, the ongoing rise of the yen, talk of future consumption tax increases, an unstable electricity supply, Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations, and territorial disputes. Upon reflection, it seems to have been a year of increasing social instability brought about by the occurrence of a string of issues affecting the nation's future.
Meanwhile, our six-year plan, which was initiated based on the twin pillars of the promotion of global strategies and the promotion of innovation (technical revolution), is now in its third year, and in May 2013 we will be celebrating our 120th year of operation. Continuing on from the previous year, this year we will focus on the concept of baikon. Baikon refers to the laying down of strong roots and building a base from which to grow. We will reexamine the foundations of our business and maintain a solid base so that we are able to respond to the needs of our customers.
As part of these efforts, from February 2013, we will spend two years completely rebuilding our flagship factory - the Shiga Plant. This capital investment will further improve the reliability of Ishida systems to ensure that customers are able to introduce them with confidence. The new plant will provide an environment that allows us to respond with more sophistication to the diverse needs of our customers and to meet customer requests for entire systems, which are increasing year by year. Amongst other facilities, the plant will include a Simulated System Line for verifying operation prior to delivery, and a refrigerated Test Room to enable the adequate implementation of pre-shipment operation tests under usage conditions that simulate those at the customer's worksite.
While the national and international
business environment during 2013 is expected to change rapidly and looks set to remain unpredictable, our aim is, as always, to be a company that is perfectly adapted to the times. At Ishida, we will strive to continue to be a company that is admired by its customers and acts as

PACK PLUS INDIA 2012

Recently, Ishida India exhibited in India's largest trade show, Packaging, Processing & Supply Chain Industries, "Pack Plus 2012". The show was held from December 7th to 10th at Greater Noida New Delhi and was attended by over 5,000 visitors.
This was the fifth time that Ishida India participated in this exhibition. This year the company exhibited weighing and packaging machinery including the CCW-R Multihead Weigher, ATLAS Series bagmaker, DACS-G Series checkweigher, and IX-G Series X-ray inspection system as well as retail products like the BC-4000E Series counter-top scales, IGX/IGB Series platform scales, and IZ-7000 Series weighing indicators. We were very pleased to welcome many customers to the Ishida India booth, some of whom were introduced to the actual machines and Japanese technology for the first time at the show.
We would once again like to extend our sincere thanks to all those who have visited the Ishida booth at a local tradeshow and taken an interest in our products. TOKYO PACK 2012

Tokyo Pack 2012 was held at TOKYO BIG SIGHT International Exhibition Center located in Tokyo, Japan from Oct 2nd to 5th.
Ishida featured "Global partner making the future of food" and exhibited major products as well as new products and technologies. Ishida's new highlight products for this year are CCW-RV Series, High-speed Waterproof multihead weigher, IX-G2, X-ray Inspection System using new technology of Duel Energy sensor and this time, it came with non-curtain trapezoidal conveyor. Ishida also exhibited the new simplified cost effective checkweigher, which has a cantilever frame design with built-in rejector. As product line up, renewed Ishidas's data monitoring and managing system i-STATION LINK-2 interfaced with CCW-R Multihead Weigher, DACS Checkweigher, and ASTRO-S Bagmaker and Automatic Tray sealing Sysytem were exhibited.

Ishida Opens Subsidiaries in Indonesia and Vietnam

In April and June this year, Ishida upgraded its bases in Indonesia and Vietnam from representative offices to subsidiaries. These changes were made with the aim of enhancing sales and maintenance services in order to provide closer support and better meet the needs of our customers. We will use these local subsidiaries to introduce our major products including multihead weighers, VFFS bagmakers, X-ray inspection systems, metal detectors, and checkweighers.

Propak Indonesia 2011

From 16th through 19th November 2011, Propak Indonesia 2011, was held at Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran in Jakarta.
This was the first exhibition from Ishida setting up the representative office in Jakarta in this June. We showed CG-R high-speed Cut-gate weigher for granule, and Checkweigher DACS-G-S015, and Metal detector ISD2-4012-WP. Lots of visitors did not know Ishida, but they enjoyed Ishida's latest technologies and solutions honed by global experiences.

Asia's largest exhibition of packaging machinery, Japan Pack 2011 was held from October 18th to 21st at Tokyo International Exhibition Center"TOKYO BIG SIGHT". Over 100,000 people visited the show for the 4 days of exhibition.
ISHIDA exhibited a booth with 3 main areas, which are Complete food production system line from weighing to case packaging, Inspection System area and Tray-sealing system area.

INTERPHEX JAPAN

Asia's largest pharmaceutical event, 25th INTERPHEX JAPAN, was held at Tokyo Big Sight from 29th June to 1st July 2011. ISHIDA participated in this exhibition which features pharmaceutical, cosmetics and detergent R&D and manufacturing technology and it was 10th time for ISHIDA.
The ISHIDA stand was divided into three areas: Counting machine, Weighing machine, and Quality Control.

to handle delicate granular products was presented in the Weighing machine area and in the other two areas latest machine models with pharmaceutical application for tablet, granule, or patch were also shown.

From 22th through 25th June 2011, FOODTECH & PHARMATECH TAIPEI 2011, which is Taipei International Food Processing & Pharm. Machinery Show, was held at TWTC NANGANG Exhibition Hall in Taipei.
In conjunction with Huichisen Co., Ltd., ISHIDA participated in this exhibition and showcased

Indonesia representative office opened

Ishida opened a representative office in Jakarta, Indonesia in June 21st 2011 to commence the supporting of sales and service activities in the region.
By establishing our own representative office in Indonesia - which enjoys robust economic development and growth with high future expectations - we hope to ride a new wave of investment opportunity, as well as support FPM in a shared effort towards cornering the market.
