Covid-19 Business Situation Update

17/03/2020

In relation to the current Covid-19 situation, Ishida is committed to acting in a responsible manner ensuring a ‘duty of care’ to our people, our customers and our communities, whilst endeavouring to continually provide customer satisfaction.

To this end, we have created a special task force which meets daily. Actions taken by this group include but are not limited to;

  • Continuously assessing the list of countries and regions affected by the outbreak and updating our people accordingly.
  • Following the advice of the Chief Medical Officer in terms of recommendations for self-quarantining and other actions.
  • Setting policies for the protection of our work sites.
  • Formulating functional department Covid-19 escalation plans to ensure we are best prepared for unpredictable future developments. The objective of these plans being to minimise the impact to our customers and the Ishida business as the situation develops.

At this point all non-essential travel has been placed on-hold, however we are allowing essential travel where this is possible to support our customers. Should we be restricted from attending your site, we will work with you to develop an alternative plan. This situation is under continual review.

In terms of local policies, we are monitoring all visitors to our sites and requiring a form which covers recent countries visited to be completed prior to arrival. Proposed visitors who have recently been to areas affected by the outbreak are prohibited from attending. Drivers collecting and delivering equipment from and to our premises, particularly those arriving from affected areas, are not allowed to leave their cabins.

We have stipulated that all staff and visitors entering the work site must wash their hands on arrival and maintain a thorough hand-washing routine throughout the day.

At this time, there are no reported disruptions to Ishida equipment supply from either our Japanese or Chinese facilities both whom have also implemented a number of associated business continuity measures.

At Ishida Europe Ltd we continue to monitor and work closely with all of our suppliers to ensure continuity of supplies.

Should you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with your current contact at Ishida Europe or alternatively email us at info@ishidaeurope.com.
